Finger Tip Injuries



 Anatomy Of Finger Tip



Finger  Tip injuries are a more common injury of the hand. The tip includes the nail plate, nail bed, pulp of finger, terminal phalanx bone with soft tissue cover.     






Types of fingertip injury



Common Types includes dorsal, volar oblique and transverse amputation. To look upon is the amount of shortening the finger has undergone, nature of violence of the injury, mode of injury   




V-Y Advancement Flap



Subcutaneous V Shaped flap is raised taking the base as the original defect and 1.5 times the apex to the dipjt crease level. tpx bone is separated for movement.





Inset and follow up



Inset is given with a finer material non-absorbable sutures. after inset flap, bleeding is assessed. finger bandage is applied, follow up on the pod 2 and pod 10 for suture removal. now, advice scar massage.
