Reconstruction With PALMARIS LONGUS -PL Graft

Clinical assesment of the Range of movement of the affected finger is done.When no Movement at DIPJt is identified ,planned for reconstruction of the tendon gap using donor graft , in this case using palmaris longus tendon.

Incision is made over the forearm grease on the affected site.Adequate Length of the Palmaris Longus Tendon is taken. Its identified as a small tendon superficial plane on the forearm.

Tension adjustment and tendon suturing

Distal end is sutured first with 3-0 prolene .After adjustment of the tension with cascade movement of the fingers. Tenodesis effect is noted and thats the point where the maximum tension is noted and proximal portion is anchored with cut end of the FDP to Little finger.
