Surgical Syndactyly Release Procedure and Post Op Pictures

Surgical  syndactyly is done in post op cases where finger of the injured hand are brought together in order for easy flap inset . In such cases once the flap settles , two fingers or more which has been joined need to be released .

Any syndactyly release needs a web space inbetweeen , so that fingers can be used effectively .
Planning of the release is very important as one might feel short of flap for one on release . 

Routine congenital syndactyly release principles are used , in creating a web flap , then the incision is planned . Never always try to close too tightly after release .

Flap necrosis is more common. One might think that the flap is bulky , so in that case , primary thining of the flap can be done. All the procedures done with adequate spacing.
